Detail: view from the left

This mask from the Nepal Middle Hills, appears to represent a king, or perhaps the crown or headdress is meant to represent a shaman's headgear. The simple carving and high gloss patina are typical of the fine priminitive or tribal masks of Nepal. The nose has been repaired (old restoration).
