This top cover is likely from a copy of the Prajnaparamita sutra. The first half of the Buddhist creed is carved here. The other half would have been carved on the bottom cover.

On the other side of this top cover Prajnaparamita, Shakyamuni and Amitabha are painted in gold on a red ground (please see detail image).
